As a professional wedding photographer in Georgia I get to visit some beautiful locations. This is an incredibly sweet couple I just recently photographed. This is their story below in Adam’s words and a set of great images from that day at the University of Georgia and Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia. Thanks guys you were so much fun!
One of the first things we’re asked is “How did you two meet?” Truth is, we don’t know. Most people find it entertaining or amusing when I tell them thatthere’s never been a time when Ivey and I didn’t know each other. We know that we went to Dacula Elementary School together, and we know that we went to preschool together at Child’s World, but we don’t really know what came before.
Since we’ve always known each other, I guess the more important story is how we came together. We’d always been friends through middle school, then high school, and we even kept in touch some while we were off at separate colleges. There was never anything more than a friendship, but we were good friends.
It finally came time where we both graduated college and were off trying to survive as adults. I remember well how she called me up one day to tell me that she was moving to Rome for work, and so we got together and went to lunch. That fall, we would get together for lunch every now and again when she was in town. Somehow we never realized what God was doing for us keeping that relationship alive despite the distance.
Come winter of that year, I found myself praying and asking God to show me where He wanted my life to go, and I asked that He would prepare me to be a part of a Godly relationship with the wonderful young woman He had in mind for me. I thought it could be months or years before God would have me ready for her, but about two weeks later, I got a phone call. It was from Ivey. She was asking me if I wanted to meet her for lunch one day soon, and of course I did. But after I hung up the phone, I could hear God telling me that this was important. I held that thought for a while. We met up a few more times, and we started talking on the phone more regularly. Then, after a few months of this vague flirting, we finally realized there was more to the two of us than a great friendship.
Ever since that summer night where we talked and discovered that we both wanted to start a real relationship, God has blessed us immeasurably. People are always amazed when they find out that there has never been a time where we haven’t been a part of each other’s lives, and that’s nice, but that’s not the best part. The best part is that after July 12th, we will get to share every day for the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.
As a wedding photographer in Georgia it is always great to go to a special location for a couple to capture their engagement images.
