Lynn’s first interest in photography began while in her high school graphics class. She enjoyed processing film and printing fellow classmate’s images for the school yearbook. After graduation, Lynn attended college to study music with hopes of becoming a high school band director. After a change of plans, Lynn enrolled in photography school.
She attended North Georgia Technical Institute in Clarkesville, GA where she graduated in 1991. Upon graduation, she went to work as a staff photographer for David and Linda Smith at Smith’s Studio in Stone Mountain, GA. In 1996, Lynn received her Master of Photography degree and Craftsman degree through the Professional Photographers of America.
Lynn has received many awards for her photography on a state level as well as on a national level including the “Fuji Masterpiece Award” and the “Kodak Gallery Award” and has had several images accepted into the PPA Loan Collection.
In 1998, Lynn became the photographer and manager of the second Smith’s Studio in Dacula, GA until she purchased it in the fall of 2002 and later renamed it Lynn Brown Photography in June of 2003. Lynn is also co-author of “The Art of Children’s Photography” published by Marathon Press.
